Christ Church Cathedral Raises The Roof

If you've walked by the corner of Burrard and Georgia lately, it's been impossible not to notice the massive scaffolding structure surrounding Christ Church Cathedral. This church, which opened over a hundred years ago is in the process of building a new zinc standing seam roof, adding an all-new illuminated glass bell spire, and expanding its community outreach kitchen which feeds about 100 people a day nine months of the year. A massive fundraising campaign "Raise The Roof, Ring The Bells, Feed The Hungry!" has been working on raising 7.5 million dollars to cover the renovations.

  1. Thanks for this great post. I had no idea this was going on. Wonderful project for the church. I believe I have been in it twice when we used to live in Vancouver.
