Five buildings are in the process of being torn down at 49th and West Boulevard in Kerrisdale to make way for a new condo development. The website for this new development "Sterling" lists units starting at the affordable price of  $1,575,000 and going as high as $2,850,000. The image below is what the site will look like once completed.

  1. The original apartments seemed in fairly good shape before demolition. The new upcoming apartments seem quite ordinary at a glance yet are a staggeringly unaffordable price. People in government need to get a handle on this deplorable situation. The city could become similar to many places in the world where people live in hovels and tents at the foot of shiny empty apartments that no one can afford. Other than greed, where is the logic or the humanity?

  2. I tend to agree with you Penelope. This was my old neighborhood. So sad to see this. They were great older buildings, when rooms were nice and large. I am sure when these are built, will be smaller in scale and such high prices. Thanks for sharing these! The changing face of Kerrisdale.
